Kyiv [Ukraine], November 6: A Ukrainian missile has destroyed a new Russian naval vessel in the port of Kerch on the Crimean Peninsula, the head of the Ukrainian air force, Lieutenant General MykolaOleshchuk reported on his Telegram channel on Sunday. Oleshchuk had earlier released a video said to show the attack on the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch in the extreme east of the peninsula. It was not clear from the clip whether the ship had actually been struck.
Russian media also reported the strike, based on information from the Defence Ministry in Moscow. Russian news agency Interfax reported that the shipyard had come under missile attack on Saturday evening. Of the 15 missiles aimed at the yard, 13 had been brought down by the air defences, it said, citing the Defence Ministry, which confirmed that a ship had been damaged. Zaliv shipyard is one of the largest in Eastern Europe. (dpa)
