Geneva [Switzerland], November 21: Ambassador Jamal Jama Al Musharakh presented his credentials to Her Excellency Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, as the Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations Office and other international organizations, at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.
During the meeting, they reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the UAE and the UN Office at Geneva, especially in the field of human rights and discussed the achievements of the UAE in this domain.
The Ambassador briefed the Director-General of the UN Office on the UAE's preparations to host
the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), and on the many opportunities available to enhance coordination in the international arena. They also discussed climate change challenges and ways to address them, particularly in relation to human rights.
For her part, the Director-General praised the important role played by the UAE in multilateral diplomacy within the framework of the United Nations, particularly in the areas of development, renewable energy, humanitarian aid, and reinforcing international peace and security.
She also expressed her gratitude to the UAE for hosting the photo exhibition "17 Faces of Action" under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Mother of the Nation, which will be organized in collaboration with the UN Office during COP28, which aims to enhance the role of women in implementing Sustainable Development Goals.
She wished the UAE success in organizing this important event, and expressed her best wishes to Ambassador Al Musharakh in carrying out his duties.
