Paris [France], May 6: On May 5, a team of French bakers overtook Italy to reclaim the Guinness World Record title by creating a 140.53 m long baguette.

With the above length, the baguette is about 235 times longer than a traditional bread, successfully helping the French team regain the above title for the country after 5 years of being held by Italy.
The French team surpassed the previous record of the Italian team, set in June 2019 in Como with a 132.62 m long baguette.
The new world
To set a record, French bakers started baking at 3 am, before placing the bread in a special oven.
"Everything has been proven, we are all extremely happy to have beaten the previous record and the new record set in France," Reuters quoted one of the members participating in setting the record. is Mr. Anthony Arrigault.
A portion of the baguette, at least 5 cm thick, is cut and shared with event participants. The rest is donated to the homeless.
According to official French regulations, the country's traditional baguette must be about 60 cm long, kneaded from flour, water, salt and yeast, weighing about 250 g when completed.
